Holy Week is near! You likely already have plans for making this upcoming week extra special
for you and your family. In case you're looking for some ideas, here is a list to help make Holy Week a time of quiet reflection upon the most important event in the history of the world: 1. Observe Palm Sunday with Fervor 2. Listen To Holy Week Music- Sacred or classical in nature 3. Read Your Way Through Holy Week -Fr. Lappe has suggested many books and podcasts over the years and perhaps this would be the week to dive into one of these sources 4. Attend The Other Services Of Holy Week- Holy Week is framed by Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, but what happens between is what makes the two Sundays make sense - please check the parish bulletin online or “upcoming dates” below for these services 5. Get to Confession- In reference to this sacrament: “It would, therefore, be foolish, as well as presumptuous, to wish arbitrarily to disregard the means of grace and salvation which the Lord has provided and, in the specific case, to claim to receive forgiveness while doing without the sacrament which was instituted by Christ precisely for forgiveness”- St. John Paul II 6. Take Part In A Mini-Fast- Consider a full or modified fast starting from the conclusion of Good Friday worship through sundown on Saturday 7. Unplug For The Week-Turn off TV, shut down the computer and cell phone as much as possible, and sign off social media 8. Host a Seder Meal - This could be as simple or elaborate as you want - modifying it to fit family needs https://denvercatholic.org/host-family-seder-meal/ 9. Partake in a Holy Week Craft or Activity With Your Family https://www.catholicicing.com/ultimate-guide-for-celebrating-holy/ CATHOLIC LIBERAL EDUCATION IN ACTION The 6th graders made an Ark of the Covenant, complete with manna, Aaron's staff and the 10 Commandments.
