Star Care Overview
Star Care provides a Roman Catholic based program, a safe and nurturing environment for the families of our school. We offer diverse activities, which are age appropriate, to provide physical and intellectual stimulation to the children. We focus on homework in order for the students to be able to enjoy their evenings without the pressure of doing homework.
Star Care enrollment is for those children who are enrolled in Our Lady Star of the Sea School (prekindergarten through eighth grade). Even though space is limited, we offer drop in care without advance notice.
Star Care is an extension of the school. It is closed when the school is closed, such as federal holidays, in-service days and for weather or other emergencies. We are not open on certain scheduled half days.

Daily Schedule
HOURS OF OPERATION:

AM (Morning)
We open at 6:30 am in the Parish Center, rooms 1 & 2. Parent or guardian check in their child. The children put away their backpacks and go to centers or finish their homework. Children may bring a snack from home such as yogurt, granola bars or breakfast. We begin to clean up the room at 8:00 am. The children gather their belongings, and line up for morning Prayers.
PM (Afternoon)
In the afternoon we open at 3:30 pm children come directly to the parish center. They check in and put away their belongings. We go outside or to the gym when it is available. There is time for homework. When finished there are quiet center activities. Snack time is approx. 4:30 pm. We say the mealtime blessing when finished with snack, all kids work to clean up and recite the grace after meal prayer. It is then time to read or work on homework until picked up by parents.
Star Care door closes promptly AT 5:30 PM.

- Payments are due on the 1st day of each month.
- Monthly fees are averaged over 10 months which includes June.
- If a bill goes longer than 30 days without payment, then the child may no longer be accepted at Star Care.
- We are closed when the school is closed. (In-service, holidays & weather related closures, and afternoons on some half days.)
- Billing is in half hour increments.
