Unborn Lives are Children of God By 7th Grade Student
Every day in the United States, over three thousand unborn lives end in abortion. Since 1973, almost sixty million unborn lives have been ended before anyone got to know who they would be, but I believe that each of them was a child of God. President Ronald Reagan once said, "If America is to remain what God, in His wisdom intended for it to be-a refuge, a safe haven for those seeking human rights-then we must once again extend the most basic human right to the most vulnerable members of the human family." I believe most Americans want everyone to enjoy basic human rights, so we must keep working to help everyone understand that even the unborn should have the basic right to life. I have a personal reason for my beliefs on this issue.
Before God formed me in the womb he knew me (Jeremiah 1:5). I was his child. Before anyone knew me, God had a plan for me. I am a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a niece, a cousin, and a friend, but my life could have ended before I was born. My birth mother was homeless and did not have a husband. She used cocaine when she was pregnant with me, and she was in jail when I was born. People who support abortion might have thought she had good reasons to have one, but God protected me. He had a plan for me because I am his child. God planned for me to be the answer to my parent's prayers for a baby. I do not know the plan God has for the rest of my life, but I know he loves me and has protected my life, especially in a car accident when I was two. I will love Him and serve Him, and will speak up for the unborn, because I know that, like me, God formed them and has a plan for them and they are his children.
