School Library
Our Lady Star of the Sea School has a collection of over 9,000 books.
Parent volunteers assist our librarian. They help keep records up-to-date and assist with book check out and return and the processing of new books. To help manage the library, we use Follett Library Management Software.
The library is open at various times Monday through Thursday to accommodate class schedules. Classroom teachers are welcome to take their classes to the library to work on projects, or do research when there is not a scheduled class in the library.
Students in grades kindergarten through grade 5 are scheduled to visit the library once a week. Older students (grades 6, 7, and 8) visit the library when they need to return or check out books, or work on research.
Star’s library is supported by a line item in the school budget, donations, and proceeds from fundraisers.
