Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As you may have heard on the news Archbishop Etienne has directed that there be no public celebration of the Holy Eucharist. All Masses have been canceled throughout the entire Archdiocese effective immediately until further notice.
Here is a video from Archbishop Etienne explaining his decision:

We are preparing to livestream Mass on Sunday at 9:30am. We will also record the Mass so that you would be able to access it online. There will be more information available.
All ministries cancelled
We have decided here at Star of the Sea to cancel (nearly) all ministries and public gatherings as well. We will not have, for the foreseeable future gatherings or meetings for:
TMIY, RCIA, Stations of the Cross, Knights of Columbus Fish Fry, the Women’s Retreat, or Sunday Mass.
Mary’s Place, however, will continue in such a fashion that we can provide food for the needy that can be carried away, avoiding a large gathering together.
Confessions will be available as normally scheduled on Saturday at 10am and 3pm and Wednesday at 5pm until all are heard.
Church will remain open for prayer
Although there will not be any public Masses or large gatherings of people, the church will be open and we will have exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in the church during the day for those who would like to come in to pray.
Our Lady Star of the Sea School, in accord with the directive from the Office of Catholic Schools, will follow the directives of the Bremerton School District.
We pray that things will be getting better soon and that this modern “plague” will pass, but for now I encourage everyone to be prudent, and to be prayerful. Here is a good opportunity to really put our hope and trust in the Lord through serious prayer.
I hope that as this breakout of the coronavirus happens we are more concerned about prayer than just watching the news and worrying.
Could you:
In Christ,
Fr. Lappe

Could you:
- Pray the Stations of the Cross each day or
- Offer an extra Rosary or
- Spend extra time in quiet prayer or
- Give up a meal or
- Add some extra penance or
- Make a financial donation to some charity
In Christ,
Fr. Lappe
