About Our Principal - Mrs. Tina Powell

Mrs. Powell has been working for Our Lady Star of the Sea School since 2012.

About Mrs. Powell:
Mrs. Powell was born and raised in Los Angeles with her three siblings. She attended parochial school K-12. She then attended the University of San Francisco and graduated with a BA in Psychology. At college she met her husband and married him soon after graduation. They raised eleven children in the Vancouver area while homeschooling many of them over a period of twenty years. Her olderst children attended a classical liberal arts school allowing her to witness the formation of the full person.

After moving to Bremerton and coming to OLSOS as a para-educator with a certificate in behavior modification, she taught three years within first grade. Mrs. Powell earned a Master’s in Special Education from Western Governor’s University. She headed up the first resource room at Star in 2016. Mrs. Powell has served as Dean of Academics and Learning Specialist. Six of Mrs. Powell’s children have attended OLSOS.

​She enjoys visiting with her grandchildren who recently seem to be doubling rapidly. In addition, Mrs. Powell enjoys playing volleyball, reading C.S. Lewis, cooking for large groups, and traveling to visit her children in other states.
