From the Desk of Mr. Kealy
Dear Star Parents and Families,
This week we took an important first step in the school’s return to in-person learning. The Kindergarten through 4th grades have had a great week! There were some minor hiccups, but we are working hard to smooth those over and are looking forward to welcoming the 5th Grade students back to in-person learning on Monday! Our Middle School students will continue with remote learning for an additional week as we work out plans for moving forward. As many of you may have heard, Mr. Fletcher has made the difficult decision to resign from teaching at Star. His final day was today, and at his request, he made the announcement to his students. I apologize for the suddenness of his announcement. We are currently in the process of finding a teacher replacement, and hope to have the process complete by September 28th when the middle school students return to the building. In the meantime, I will be taking the opportunity to return to the classroom to teach Mr. Fletcher’s classes. I am rather excited to get to teach math and science once more, albeit for a short time. In other news, the annual Parent’s Meeting is scheduled for 6 pm, Thursday, September 24th in Camerman Hall. We will be socially distanced and masks will be required. The Curriculum Night that usually precedes this meeting will be a Zoom presentation on the 1st of October. Information regarding the Zoom presentation will be released soon. Thank you again for your patience and understanding as we work our way through an interesting year. I look forward to seeing you soon. God bless and have a safe and relaxing weekend.
