From the Desk of Mrs. Wolfe
Dear Our Lady Star of the Sea School Families,
We entered the month of November by remembering and honoring the many saints through the years that are good examples of the virtues we teach our students. This week we had the pleasure of honoring the many veterans in our community who are also great examples to us, especially of the virtues of Diligence, Fidelity, Fortitude, Friendship, Generosity, Obedience, Responsibility, and Service. We are so grateful for the privilege of having so many military families as part of our school and our parish! Many thanks to Capt. Helen Smith, who gave our keynote address--her message was inspiring to all of us! Our students also had some great questions for the veterans to answer, and our bands and choir gave outstanding performances. Thanks also to our Parents Club, who sponsored the reception following the assembly, and for all who attended--it is truly an honor to celebrate your service each year.
Picture retakes are on Wednesday, Nov. 14. If your student is having their picture retaken, please make sure they bring their envelope to school that day, and that they wear their uniform.
We are taking donations of items to be sold for our upcoming Advent Store. We especially need items that the children can purchase for the boys and men in their lives; items can be new or gently used. We also need wrapping paper, tape, gift bags, etc.
