From the Desk of Mrs. Wolfe
Dear Our Lady Star of the Sea School Families,
Thank you to all who took part in our 24th annual S.C.O.P.E. auction! What a beautiful evening, thanks to the careful and thorough planning by Kara and Greg Geske and Sarah and Joe Keller and their incredible team! Thanks also for the beautiful decor, the items up for bid, the weather, the guests, the volunteers, and of course to all who donated to the grand total of $131,000 raised! We've already set the date for next year's event, so mark your calendars for Friday, May 15, 2020, and plan to come celebrate the 25th annual auction!
I need to apologize for an unintended omission from our S.C.O.P.E. Auction program on the Dessert Auction donation page. Many thanks to Kay Thompson, who donated a delicious Orange Kahlua Mocha & Caramel Mousse Cake that brought in a whopping $1800 - the top bid during the dessert auction! Rumor has it there was not one crumb left at the end of the evening!!
At our morning assembly on Wednesday, May 22, we recognized Elizabeth A. for being "Witness of the Week." She demonstrated the virtue of "Generosity," when she worked very hard on an art project and selflessly gave it to another friend when they couldn't make their own. Way to go, Evie!
Fr. Lappe and I are pleased to announce that your new principal for next year is Mr. Kevin Kealy! He will officially take the helm on July 1, 2019. Please join me in extending a huge congratulations to him! I pray that you will be all the support for him that you have been for me. In addition to Mr. Kealy's new position, please welcome Mr. Luke Fletcher to the middle school, as he will take over Mr. Kealy's teaching responsibilities; Ms. Teresa Rothlin will become our new third grade teacher; and our 4th grade will be taught by two teachers-our newest sister, Sr. Amata Christi, and a half time teacher we have yet to hire. Congratulations to these faculty on their new positions!
