“From Mary we learn to surrender to God’s Will in all things. From Mary we learn to trust even when all hope seems gone. From Mary we learn to love Christ, her Son and the Son of God!” - St. John Paul II
May 22, 2020 Dear Star Parents and Families, As we approach the end of the school year, I know there are many questions about the beginning of school this Fall. We are all praying that the Fall sees us once again in our classrooms with our students. However, we are also actively planning for the possibility of opening online. Meetings are currently being held at the Office for Catholic Schools to develop a set of plans for the various possibilities for the beginning of school in September. I will share the official plan as soon as possible. Please know that whatever the Office of Catholic Schools directs, the safety of our students, families, teachers and staff will always be the deciding factor. Another end-of-the-year concern is how to return school materials and collect student belongings from the classroom. We have set-up a drop-off/pick-up schedule which will allow staff to accurately account for all materials while maintaining appropriate social distancing. Tables will be placed in the front of the school and will be designated for books, computers, and other materials borrowed from the school. Student belongings will be placed in bags and labeled for pick up. The classroom teacher will be present to help with directions and transport materials back inside the building. Unfortunately, due to restrictions, only school staff will be allowed in the building. June 8th: 8th Grade from 9 am - 10 am 7th Grade from 11 am - Noon June 9th: 6th Grade from 9 am - 10 am 5th Grade from 11 am - Noon June 10th: 4th Grade from 9 am - 10 am 3rd Grade from 11 am - Noon June 11th: 2nd Grade from 9 am - 10 am 1st Grade from 11 am - Noon June 12th: Kindergarten 10 am - 11 am Please be sure to come on the designated date & time for your student’s grade. We understand that this may be an inconvenience for families with multiple students, and we apologize, but an established schedule is the safest and most efficient way for us to accomplish the drop-off/pick-up event. Thank you for your cooperation. Registration for the 2020-2021 school year is currently underway. If you haven’t re registered your child for the Fall, please complete soon so we can accurately plan for next year's numbers. If you have any questions about whether or not you have completed the registration, please contact either Mrs. Shetler (tshetler@starofthesea.net) or Mrs. Geske (kgeske@starofthesea.net). We are looking for volunteers to fill the following positions for the 2020-2021 school year:
I am looking forward to seeing all of the contributions to our annual Talent Show! From what I understand a number of entries were sent in, and I have no doubt they were great! A big thank to Mrs. Powell and Sr. Daniela for gathering the videos and getting them ready for us to view. Also, yearbooks can be ordered from the publisher by going to their website at https://star.picaboo.com/ .
