“The giver of every good and perfect gift has called upon us to mimic God’s giving, by grace, through faith, and this is not of ourselves.” –St. Nicholas of Myra
December 6, 2019 Dear Star Parents and Families, Happy St. Nicholas Day! St. Nicholas was a fourth century bishop of Myra, a city in Lycia, a province of Asia Minor (modern Turkey). Little is known about St. Nicholas; however, legend has it that he tossed three bags of gold into the window of a man with three daughters of marrying age. St. Nicholas’ anonymous gifts allowed the father to provide them with a dowry. Today, after Mass, students came back to a gift from St. Nicholas! Thank you to the Parents Club and volunteers who made this happen. The gift is always a neat surprise, even for the older students. Monday was the end of the First Trimester and report cards will go home on Friday, the 13th. If you have any questions about the report cards, please contact the classroom teacher, either through the office or by email. As a reminder, next Thursday is the Advent Store. A sheet of gift tags is attached to this email. To help the shopping process run more smoothly, please make sure the gift tags are filled-out before your student’s visit to the store.
