From the Desk of Mrs. Wolfe
Dear Our Lady Star of the Sea School Families,
Congratulations to our Student Council Poster Contest winners for the month of December – Avari H. and Sophia P., both from Mrs. Rothlin’s 4th grade class! The theme for January’s contest will be announced the first week we are back in 2018. But if your child is looking for something to do to stay ahead of assignments over the break, make sure they get started on their Pro-Life Poster (gr. 1-6) or Essay (gr. 7-8)!
Pro-Life Poster and Essay Contest!
Rose and Ernie Ryan will be meeting with the children in January to talk about the contest rules, but I want you to know what the theme this year is so you can talk it over with your child(ren). The theme is, “Unborn Lives are Children of God.” The contest is open to all students in grades 1-8, with 4 divisions – gr. 1-2; gr. 3-4; gr. 5-6 for posters, and grades 7-8 for essays. I also heard that the judges really appreciate having the theme stated clearly on the work. The contest rules and entry form will be included in each of the Friday Folder emails beginning with this week; please be sure to attach the entry form to the back of the student’s entry. Entries are due to the school by noon on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018.
