From the Desk of Mrs. Wolfe
Dear Our Lady Star of the Sea School Families,
We are off to a great start for this 2018-19 school year! Many thanks to all of our staff and volunteers for helping us establish our new routines for morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up, lunch in our classrooms, Star Care, and bus route changes! You have been so flexible and understanding this week--I can't that you all enough!
This morning at Mass I marveled at how our school has grown this year, as evidenced by needing more pews for student seating. Our Kindergartners did a fabulous job of being attentive and listening--I gave them an A+ for Mass behavior. They all clapped and smiled, and then one of them asked me, "What is an A+?" Our school currently has 173 students in grades K-8, and 28 students in the two preschool classes, and we have waiting lists for Kindergarten and both preschool classes.
Our chapel is nearly complete! We will be inviting the parish to come to the school after all Masses the weekend of Sept. 8 and 9 so they can view the chapel as well as walk through the rest of the school. Fr. Lappe will bring the Blessed Sacrament over to the chapel after our school Mass on Friday, Sept. 14 at 9:00 am. Students will be part of the procession, and I hope you can join us for this very special event!
Have you met our Parents Club officers for this year? Our President is Jennifer Bobrowski (students in grades 4 and 5); V.P. is Jamie Lozano (students in grades 5 and 8); Secretary is Marisa Zechlin (student in first grade); and Treasurer is Sally George (students in grades 2 and 8). They have lots planned for this year, and ar a great group of moms - I hope you will get involved!
