Music

In K-3 choir classes our energy is focused on learning and applying general music techniques and preparing for our next concert.

Grade 4 students learn to play the soprano recorder which is a wonderful introductory band instrument. They are highly motivated to earn colored karate belts for each new song/rhythm/technique mastered in hopes of attaining their black belt.

Fifth grade band students begin their journey with the study of instrumental music by a progression of musical notes and skills while practicing the finese of playing in a group and as a soloist with musicality.

Jr. High Band students should have had at least one year experience playing an instrument. Private lessons are encouraged. Students are on a steady progression of notes, skills and techniques while rehearsing their pieces for the next school concert.

Practice tip: Only practice on the days you eat!                        Mrs. LaFrance
